30 years of apple
March 31, 2006
i publish this when many people will also be publishing many things that are on the same lines and i am not bothered, i am not bothered if it doesn’t even get read as long as its here.
I switched from windows 3months ago shortly before the first Intel based machine came out, this is something i don’t regret doing i.e. missing out on iMac with an intel processor, anyway it has made a refreshing change no crashes no malware, basically nothing to piss me off. And in the three months only having to restart to update and occasionally because i could.
Why did I Change?
well off course the ipod made me do it
WRONG although it did play a part, I work around windows all the time at school for my dads network and to be quite honest it grinds on the soul after a while, my computer keeps showing a blue screen YAY! another reformat, or i cant install new version of office because microsoft feel the need to put a font in the computer that stops it "haettenschwieller’ its just i want my computer to work do as i say and not as it wants and to have the limited fuss. fair enough neither OS is perfect but microsoft hasn’t changed there ways or programming in the last 20years for example Office 2003 still has alot of the original office coding, and the fancy recover documents feature never works when you need it.
another thing is the fact windows is so easy to kill, a new user can take a windows machine and kill it in minutes without the neccessary protection angainst the multude of different attacks they could recievce, whilst i acknowledge the fact that there are holes in OS X i do also know when they become a threat they will be fixed and not left for years to gather dust.
Basically by switching i feel much better and i buy into all the company ethos like a child of 2, waiting for the next iPod or the next shiny computer just simply because they are so bloody good.

Long time without a rant
March 31, 2006
It has been far too long since i had a good rant or even posted on this blog because i am lazy
Not really got to do GCSEs and all that the most important year of your life crap over and over again. So today i finished all my coursework, but that isn’t enough time to start revising. I really get annoyed at the linear and boring nature of the GCSE courses they are all the same format all marked in the same way and the actual tests aren’t there to test your knowledge they are there to test your ability to pass a test. I could go on for hours about this and i often do, so i thought i would commit it to data then i can leave it alone for abit.
